Lamwo is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Lamwo .

location

The Lamwo district is bordered on the north by Sudan , on the east and southeast of the Kitgum district , in the south on the Pader District , in the southwest on the Gulu district and on the west by the Amuru district .

history

The Lamwo District was created in 2006 from parts of the Kitgum District.

Demographics

The population is estimated at 143,800 for 2020. In the same year, 13.8 percent of them lived in urban regions and 86.2 percent in rural regions.
