Nakapiripirit is a district in northern Uganda . The capital of the district is Nakapiripirit .

location

The district borders in the north with the district Napak , in the northeast with the district Moroto , in the east with the district Amudat , in the southeast with the district Kween , in the southwest with the district Bulambuli , in the west with the district Kumi and in the northwest with the district Katakwi .

Demographics

The population is estimated at 113,300 for 2020. In the same year 4.2 percent of them lived in urban regions and 95.8 percent in rural regions. The majority of the population are Karamojong .

economy

The main economic activity in the district is animal husbandry and the majority of the population are pastoralists. In some areas, especially in the south, rural agriculture is also practiced. The district is one of the poorest and most underdeveloped in Uganda.
