Kaliro is a district in eastern Uganda . The capital of the district is Kaliro .
location
The Kaliro District borders the Serere District to the north , across Lake Nakuwa , one of the lakes that make up Lake Kyoga . The Pallisa district is in the northeast, the Namutumba district in the southeast, the Iganga district in the south, the Luuka district in the southwest and the Buyende district in the northwest.
history
The district was created in 2006 from parts of the Kamuli district.
Demographics
The population is estimated to be 288,500 in 2020. In the same year, 7.1 percent of them lived in urban regions and 92.9 percent in rural regions.
