Gomba is a district in central Uganda . The capital of the district is Kanoni .

location

The Gomba district borders on the Mubende district in the west and north, the Mityana district in the northeast and the Butambala district in the east . The Kalungu district , the Bukomansimbi district and the district Sembabule lie south of the district Gomba.

history

The Gomba district was created in 2010 from parts of the Mpigi district.

Demographics

The population is estimated at 173,800 for 2020. In the same year, 7.8 percent of them lived in urban regions and 92.2 percent in rural regions.
