Celtic graves of Donnerskirchen
The five Celtic graves of Donnerskirchen come from the early Hallstatt culture (800–650 BC - Osthallstattkreis) and are located on the eastern slope of the Mahdberg (also Martinsberg), west of Donnerskirchen , east of the B 15 (Mannersdorfer / Wiener Str., Direction Hof am Leithaberge) in Burgenland in Austria . The one to three meter high hills are popularly known as the “three mountains” because of the three largest.

Hills 1 to 3 were excavated between 1910 and 1913. The hills contained next to a magnificent polychrome Stierkopf vessel that much attention was, urns , decorated and undecorated tapered neck vessels, moon idols (typical of women's graves), shells, animal vessels, Tonsitulen and the fire attacked metal additions. Perhaps there is a connection between the richly decorated tombs in Donnerskirchen and the height fortifications at the Burgstall near Purbach . A reliable allocation of the additions to individual tumuli is difficult. Hills 4 and 5 were old stripped. The finds are in the Landesmuseum Burgenland (BLM) in Eisenstadt .
