Grabissa the Great (Czech Hrabeš Veliký also Heralt Gerardus ) († 1158 ) was a Bohemian nobleman from the Hrabischitz family .

Its origin is unclear. It is assumed that the direct descendants of Kojata I. This Hrabischitzer is said to have been a corrupt contemporary. So the advisor of the Bohemian Duke Bořivoj took money from Skrbimir, an envoy of the Polish King Bolesław III. Crooked mouth . He also caused disagreements between Prince Bořivoj and the Moravian Prince Svatopluk II. In 1106 he is said to have acted again with his companion Protivin as an intriguer. The nobles Bořivoj and Mutin joined Vladislav I , who in turn fell with his Moravian relative Svatopluk and Bořivoj a year later.

Even later, Bořivoj's adviser did not gain the trust of the overthrown prince. When he recaptured the Prague Castle with the help of his brother-in-law Wiprecht von Groitzsch in 1109 , Grabissa had to hold it while the duke retired to a safe place. With the help of Heinrich V , Vladislav I regained power. Bořivoj was captured and imprisoned. The followers of Bořivoj were severely punished. Some were lost sight of, others lost their property, and a few managed to escape to Poland . The Chronicle of Cosmas of Prague is silent about the fate of Grabissa . This is not mentioned again until 1116. At that time he was building a fortress with fortified walls and moats in the Moravian town of Vlčnov . Lastly, Grabissa is mentioned in 1121 as an exemplary father and good Christian. In 1158 he is said to have fallen on the side of the Bohemian King Vladislav II , who fought for Frederick I Barbarossa .
