description

The tomb of Jean de Kerouzéré is carved from Kersantit . It was created back in 1460, the year of his death. The tomb consists of a sarcophagus and a lid with the reclining figure of the deceased. Jean de Kerouzéré is dressed in a tunic depicting a lion. On the belt of his robe you can see an inscription with his motto "LIST, LIST" (let it be). A sword lies between his legs and another sword lies on his left side. The dead man's head is laid on a pillow, and two angels are sitting to one side, placing their hands on his head in a tender gesture. A lion crouches at his feet with a bone in his paws. The side walls of the sarcophagus are decorated with heraldic shields depicting lions and swans.
