Graciela Kaminsky

Graciela Laura Kaminsky (* 20th century ) is an American economist .

Career, research and teaching

Kaminsky studied economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where she earned her Ph.D. graduated . After a subsequent research stay at the Argentine Central Bank in 1984, she moved to the University of California, San Diego as an Assistant Professor in 1985 . In 1992 she took up a position on the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve System before returning to academic operations in 1998 and being appointed full professor at George Washington University . There she worked in particular at the renowned Elliot School of International Affairs . At the same time, she visited various universities, but also national central banks and supranational organizations such as the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank , where she sometimes also appeared as an advisor.

Kaminsky is a member of the American Economic Association and the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association . She has served on the editorial board of various periodicals, including the World Bank Economic Review , the Journal of Development Economics, and the Journal of International and Economic Policy .

Kaminsky's work focuses in the field of international finance , especially with a focus on emerging markets and globalization of financial markets , and economic development . In particular, she dealt with the effects of economic, currency, capital market and banking crises. Her frequently cited works include collaborations with Carmen Reinhart and Carlos Vegh in particular .
