The Gradski stadium Užice ( Serbian - Cyrillic Градски стадион Ужице ; City Stadium or Municipal Stadium Užice) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Serbian city ​​of Užice . The venue is also known under the names Stadion 24. Septembar or Stadion Slobode . It is the home of the Sloboda Užice football club . The name Sloboda means freedom in German  .

history

Before the official opening game, there was a test match between Sloboda Užice and Slavija Sarajevo on June 9, 1946 . The stadium was then officially opened on September 24, 1946 with a friendly game between the home team and Partizan that ended 6-0. A year earlier, on the same day , the partisans liberated the city ​​of Užice from occupation by the Wehrmacht , so this date was selected. The visitor record was set in 1967. In the Yugoslav Football Cup , Red Star Belgrade opposed the home side in front of 18,000 spectators. The game ended with a 1: 2 for Belgrade . A first renovation took place in 1980.

After renovation work between September 2010 and August 2011, the stadium currently offers 12,000 seats. The first meeting after the renovation took place on August 21, 2011. Opponent Partizan was defeated 2-1. On July 26, 2013 it was announced that the stadium will be equipped with floodlights for the first time . The first game under floodlights was the game on the 5th day of the SuperLiga on September 14, 2013 was also against Partizan.
