Graeme Walton (born June 17, 1982 in Belfast , Northern Ireland ) is a British ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2003 .

Career

Graeme Walton began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Belfast Giants , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elite Ice Hockey League in the 2003/04 season . In his rookie year , the defender made four assists in a total of 47 games and received 28 penalty minutes. In the following years, the right-handed shooter became a permanent fixture on his team and has reached the playoffs with Belfast in every season. He also won the main round with the Giants in the 2005/06 season and the EIHL Challenge Cup in 2009. In 2010 he won the EIHL playoffs with Belfast.

International

For the British national ice hockey team , Walton took part in the B World Championships in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 . He was also in the UK squad for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games qualifying tournament in Vancouver .
