Grand Menhir de Counozouls

The Grand Menhir of Counozouls is a menhir west of Counozouls in the Aude Valley, south of Quillan and Axat in the Aude department in France .

The Grand Menhir de Counozouls is about 8.9 meters high and weighs 50 tons. It is the largest menhir in southern France and one of the largest in Europe.

For a long time he stood in the high forest near the D 84, but the trees around him were felled and the stone is now free with a view of the village and the valley.
