Granger Kelly Smith (born September 4, 1979 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American country singer.

biography

Granger Smith grew up in Dallas. He was already on stage at the age of 14 and made his first recordings during his time at Texas A&M University . Waiting on Forever was his first self-produced album in 1998. He signed a contract with EMI Music , took a break from college and went to Nashville . The time in Music City was a musical apprenticeship, but it was fruitless. He produced more albums without breaking through and returned to Texas in the mid-2000s to finish his studies. He continued his career as a local musician and made a name for himself in his home state. He also continued to record albums, a total of 8 self-productions, including a live album.

It was only in the early 2010s that he joined the Pioneer label and made his first professional release with the album Dirt Road Driveway . Then he used the pseudonym Earl Dibbles Jr. for 2 songs. Right off the bat, he not only got into the country charts , but also into the top 50 of the official album charts . The EP 4 × 4 was similarly successful two years later. The move to Wheelhouse Records a year later gave him another boost. The album Remington reached the top 3 of the country charts and reached number 12 on the Billboard 200. Part of the reason for the success was the Backroad song , a number 1 radio hit on country stations, which also made it into the top 50 of the single charts and went gold was awarded.

With the third label album When the Good Guys Win he was able to build on the success in 2017.
