The Gransee newspaper (GZ for short) is a local daily newspaper that has been published in the Oberhavel district since 1991 . The sold circulation is 3365 copies, a decrease of 46.1 percent since 1998. The local newspaper belongs to the Oranienburger Generalanzeiger , a new newspaper founded in the area of ​​the former GDR , which has established itself as one of the few on the newspaper market. Together with the Oranienburger Generalanzeiger , the GZ is the daily newspaper with the highest circulation in the Oberhavel district and thus a competitor of the local edition of the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung .

history

Since October 19, 1991, the Gransee-Zeitung has been published Monday to Saturday in its distribution area in the north of the Oberhavel district. Since January 1, 2011, the newspaper has belonged to Märkische Verlags- und Druckhaus GmbH & Co. KG (MVD) , which also publishes the Märkische Oderzeitung , which designs the supraregional part of GZ. Before that, GZ belonged to Dirk Ippen's publishing group . Until 2012, the shareholders of the MVD were each half the Neue Pressegesellschaft mbh & Co. KG (publisher of the Südwest-Presse ) and the Stuttgarter Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (publisher of the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten ). At the end of 2012 the Neue Pressegesellschaft took over all shares.

The Gransee-Zeitung has lost a lot of its circulation in recent years . The number of copies sold has fallen by an average of 3% per year over the past 10 years. Last year it decreased by 6.2%. It is currently 3365 copies. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 89.6 percent.
