Grant Billmeier (born October 6, 1984 in Pennington , New Jersey ) is an American basketball player . The 2.08 m tall and 114 kg heavy Billmeier plays on the position of the center . Since the 2008-09 season he has been playing for AD Vagos in the 1st Portuguese Basketball League (LFB).

After graduating from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey , Billmeier decided to attend Seton Hall University . For the university's basketball team, the Pirates, who play in the Big East Conference, he scored 3.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game in his freshman year. In his second year he had 3.4 points and rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.

In the summer of 2007 he ventured to Europe and signed a contract with the Würzburg Baskets , which were playing in the 1st Regionalliga Südost at the time. The "Baskets" ended the season in third place and thus missed the promotion. Billmeier was one of the top performers: He scored the third most points of his team (337) and averaged 13.0 points per game.

However, since the team wanted to present an almost completely new squad for the 2008/09 season, Billmeier's contract was not extended and he moved to the Portuguese first division club AD Vagos.

His aggressive and physical style of play gave him the nickname "G-Banger". His strengths are playing close to the basket, where he gets rebounds and comes up with easy points. However, atypical for players of his size, he also has a reliable throw from the middle distance and is a solid free thrower .
