Grant Nel (born April 7, 1988 in Johannesburg , South Africa ) is an Australian water diver . He starts for the Melbourne Elite Diving Academy in the disciplines of artificial jumping from the 1 m and 3 m board as well as in 3 m synchronized jumping.

So far he has participated in two swimming world championships . In 2007 in Melbourne he was 22nd from the 1m board and together with Scott Robertson seventh in the 3m synchronized jumping. In 2009 in Rome he came with Matthew Mitcham in the 3 m synchronized jumping on rank 14. In the individual from the 1 m and 3 m board he was eliminated in the preliminary competition.

Nel was successful at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi . In the 3 m synchronized jumping he was fifth with Robertson and from the 3 m board he won the bronze medal.

Nel lives in College Station , USA, and studies there at Texas A&M University . He starts for the university's sports team, the Aggies , and celebrated success in the Big 12 Conference .
