Grantshouse , Gaelic : Taigh a 'Ghranndaich , is a village in the northeast of the Scottish Council Area Scottish Borders or in the traditional county of Berwickshire . It is located about ten kilometers north of Duns and twelve kilometers west of Eyemouth on the left bank of Eye Water .
history
It was the Homes of Renton that built the mansion Renton House on the western edge of Grantshouse in the early 18th century . A sundial shows the year of construction 1715, which could roughly correspond to the year of construction of Renton House.
In Granthouse there is a church belonging to the Presbyterian Church of Scotland .
In the course of the 1961 census survey, Grantshouse counted 135 inhabitants.

The village is on what is now the East Coast Main Line . The line was built in the 19th century as a section of the North British Railway . Although the line is still in operation, Grantshouse station, which was set up in the mid-19th century, has since been closed. The station building was demolished.
