Grass (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The grass , also known as the Grasse , was a measure of area in Emden .

  • 1 grass / grass = 300 square rods (Preuss) ischer = 43,200 square feet ( Preuss ) = 42.55375 Ar (French) = 1 acre (hannov) shear plus 75 rods = 1 ⅝ acre (hannov)
  • 4 grass = 3 diemat

The Diemat was divided into Landdiemat and Moordiemat. The same applied to fields, meadows and garden land

  • 1 Landdiemat = 400 square rods (Preuss) = 2 acres plus 20 square rods ~ 2 ⅛ acres (hannov)
  • 1 Moordiemat = 450 old square rods (Preuss). The underlying rod was calculated to be 15 feet (Preuss) instead of 12
  • 1 grass = 1.62356 new acres (hannov) = 1 acre plus 74 square rods = 211.860 square feet (hannov).

In practice, 1 ⅝ acres (hannov) were calculated.
