Grasmere is a lake in the Lake District in Cumbria , England .

In the north of the lake lies Grasmere , made famous by William Wordsworth .

The lake is 1540 m long and 640 m wide. The lake is at a height of 62 m and is a maximum of 21 m deep.

The Rothay flows through the lake. There is an island in the lake called The Island .
