history

According to its own statements, the district was founded in 1986 on the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Justice. At that time, leading practitioners were asked to contribute their experience and skills to amending bankruptcy law. The Gravenbrucher Kreis accompanied this amendment to insolvency law (1999) as well as the introduction of the ESUG, the law to further facilitate the restructuring of companies (2012) and its evaluation . The research project accompanying the evaluation was completed on April 30, 2018.

In April 2020, the Gravenbrucher Kreis had 30 members (23 active and seven passive). Lucas F. Flöther has been the circle's spokesman since March 2015 .

Goals and content

InsO Excellence

The members of the Gravenbrucher Circle assure companies, creditors and courts of legally secure, transparent and professional procedures. They commit to special quality and performance standards. All members submit to the requirements of InsO Excellence, a certification that is checked annually by independent auditors. According to the district, InsO Excellence is tailored to the specific requirements of insolvency administration, property management and restructuring.

The annual audits cover topics ranging from the organization of the law firm and business continuity to reporting, compliance and data security to the management of insolvency proceedings, dealing with creditors' committees and external communication.

Chart of accounts

The magazine for commercial law shows that the members of the Gravenbrucher Kreis have switched to a chart of accounts specially developed for insolvency accounting in new insolvency proceedings from 2012.
