Graziano Marini (born March 27, 1957 in Todi ) is an Italian painter , glass painter , mosaic artist , ceramist , sculptor and curator .

life and work

Growing up in Todi in the cultural climate of the 1970s, he was creative at an early age, but decided instead of attending an art school to learn painting in the workshop of a master. Therefore, in 1975 he apprenticed to Piero Dorazio , whose assistant he became and with whom he had a lifelong friendship. In the following years he also worked in the studios of some other great artists such as Emilio Vedova , Luigi Veronesi , Giuseppe Santomaso , Fausto Melotti , Nino Fran , Giulio Turcato and Nick Carone .

On behalf of Antonio Presti, in 1996, together with Piero Dorazio, he designed the art space called La stanza della pittura of the Atelier sul Mare des Castels di Tusa.

His oil paintings are inspired by both abstract Italian art and concretism . He regards the fashions of the moment as a mere by-product of the tradition of modern painting.

In addition to his painting activities, he is the organizer of numerous art events to support young Italian artists.
