Great Bear in Hersheypark ( Hershey , Pennsylvania , USA ) is a steel roller coaster model Inverted Coaster from the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which opened on May 23, 1998.

journey

The 853 m long route has a 27 m high lift hill and a 38 m high descent . In contrast to most other roller coasters of this type, the lift hill is not followed by the first descent, but by a helix . It has a total of four inversions : a 31 m high loop , an Immelmann , a zero-g-roll and a corkscrew .

Trains

Great Bear has two trains with eight cars each. Four people (one row of four) can be seated in each carriage. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.

construction

When building the runway, the manufacturer had to use some special structural elements and foundations because the runway was built over a river and the park had problems getting permits to build supports in the water.
