Boomerang is the name of a widely used steel roller coaster model type shuttle roller coaster manufacturer's Vekoma .
The special thing about the trip is that it has no closed route. The train is first pulled backwards out of the station onto a 35.5 m high lift hill by means of a sled attached to a steel cable . Once at the top, the train disengages, descends the tower forwards, through the station and the following elements, the eponymous boomerang and looping , up the second lift hill . On this it is pulled up by a chain lift and drives through the elements backwards after being released until it is braked in the station.
In addition to the standard model, there are two versions of this layout, the Invertigo and the Giant Inverted Boomerang , in which the trains hang under the rails ( inverted coaster ). Another variant without looping is the Family Boomerang .
The Chinese manufacturer Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment has been producing a comparable roller coaster model since 2014.
Trains
The trains of the Boomerang have seven cars with space for four people (two rows of two people). This enables a maximum capacity of 760 people per hour. The trains are also built by Vekoma. However, some parks / operators also use trains from other manufacturers. For example , a train from the German company SAT Rides has been in use on the Boomerang in Vienna's Prater since the end of July 2007 , which is characterized above all by the lack of the usual shoulder straps.
Occurrence
There are currently 54 deliveries worldwide (active or under construction). In Austria there is a model in the Vienna Prater .
