Great Malvern is the historic city center of Malvern (Worcestershire) in England. The Malvern Hills District administration is located here in addition to the Malvern Town Hall . The neighboring towns of Barnards Green , Little Malvern , Malvern Link , Malvern Wells , North Malvern and West Malvern are referred to together with the Malvern Hills as The Malverns .
history
The place Great Malvern arose since 1085 near the Great Malvern Priory . Great Malvern gained importance as a spa in the 19th century. Today's Malvern was created in 1900 through the merger of Great Malvern and Malvern Link. Until then, they were the urban districts of Great Malvern and Malvern Link .
Culture
Malvern hosts one of the oldest fringe festivals every year under the name Malvern Fringe Festival . There are also the Malvern Theaters in the Winter Gardens , which are also used for music events.

Great Malvern is on the A449 and has a train station on the Worcester to Hereford railway line .
Malvern Water
There is a healing spring near Great Malvern from which Malvern Water springs. The Schweppes company dealt with industrial bottling on site. At the end of November 2010, however, the small traditional production facility was closed. The reason given was that the market share of mineral water had recently shrunk to 0.4%. The medicinal water had been used by several generations of the British royal family. In addition to Queen Elisabeth I , Queen Victoria and Queen Elisabeth II were among the consumers.
