The Green Crag is a ledge on Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises in the southwest section of Cathedral Crags on Whalers Bay .
The British geologist Donald Durston Hawkes (* 1934) from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1961. Polish scientists named it in 1999 after its greenish appearance caused by the growth of lichen .
