Green Street ( shown as Green on the signs ) is the name of a subway station owned by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain in the state of Massachusetts in the United States . It provides access to the subway line Orange Line .
history
The station opened on May 4, 1987 as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line parallel to the Northeast Corridor . It is a new building for the Washington Street Elevated station of the same name .

The underground station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via a central platform .
building
The subway station is located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood at 150 Green Street at 380 Amory Street . The building is completely barrier-free .
As part of the MBTA Arts on the Line project, the work of art “Color Passage” by Virginia Gunter , consisting of several sculptures, was installed in the station . In addition, outside the station there are two granite monuments with engraved texts ("Drift" by Mary Bonina and "Reflections" by Daria MonDesire ).

Since line 48 was closed on July 1, 2012, Green Street has been one of the few stations without a connection to the MBTA bus routes . In the immediate vicinity are Franklin Park , Southwest Corridor Park and Jamaica Pond .
