Greg Bahnsen

Greg Bahnsen (born September 17, 1948 in Auburn , Washington , † December 11, 1995 ) was an American philosopher , author and theologian .

Life

Bahnsen grew up in Pico Rivera , California . He has suffered from the blood disease hemophilia since childhood . After leaving school, he studied at Westmont College , where he graduated in philosophy in 1970. Then Bahnsen went to the Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia , where he studied theology. In 1973 he graduated from Philadelphia. Bahnsen received the William Benton Greene Prize . He then moved to the University of Southern California (USC), where he deepened the subject of epistemology in philosophy. Bahnsen wrote articles for the Chalcedony Foundation by Rousas John Rushdoony , which is considered the main institution in Christian Reconstructionism .

Bahnsen was ordained priest of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in the United States in 1975 . After completing his studies and ordination, he got a job as a professor of apologetics and ethics at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson , Mississippi .

In 1969 Bahnsen married Cathie Wade. He is the father of four children. In 1990 the marriage was divorced.
