Greg Hill (born September 26, 1977 ) is an American tennis player and coach.

Career

Greg Hill played a total of 26 singles matches on the ITF Junior Tour and won about half of them. In doubles, where he started almost exclusively with Tommy Haas as a partner, he was significantly more successful. He was in the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam tournaments in the French Open in 1995 and in Wimbledon in the same year. In the latter, the pairing even reached the semi-finals. Also at the prestigious Orange Bowl , the duo was only eliminated in the semifinals.

After transforming to the pro tour, he only played a handful of tournaments. He was eliminated five times in the first round of tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour . Only once, in 1996 in Cali , did he win at all. His only two appearances on the ATP Tour were thanks to a wildcard in 1997 in Scottsdale and in 2009 after a long period of inactivity in Delray Beach, each at Haas' side. They lost both opening games.

He pursued the coaching career early on. After studying at Texas A&M University , where he set the record for most individual wins, he was a tennis coach at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for 15 years . He trained u. a. with Marcelo Ríos , Tommy Haas, Alexandra Stevenson or Mary Joe Fernández .
