Gregor Galke

Gregor Galke (born January 19, 1953 ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Gregor Galke studied law and passed the first state examination in 1977 at the University of Cologne and the second state examination in 1979 in Mainz .

He began his legal career after completing his legal training in 1979 as a judge for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate . Here he initially worked as a judge and public prosecutor at the Koblenz district court and as a judge at the local courts of Cochem and St. Goar during his probationary period . In 1984 he was appointed judge at the Koblenz Regional Court. From 1986 to 1988 he was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Justice and then from 1988 to 1992 as a research assistant to the Federal Court of Justice. He was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz in 1992 and was seconded to the Ministry of Justice of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1995.

In 1999 he was appointed judge at the Federal Supreme Court and in 2009 he was appointed presiding judge at the Federal Supreme Court. He sat the VI. Civil Senate of the Federal Court of Justice , which primarily deals with the law of unlawful acts , including tortious and contractual medical liability law. In this function, he participated, among other things, in the judgment of the BGH, in which the use of dashcams was allowed as evidence. from January 2010 onwards he also headed the Senate for notary matters until his retirement.
