Gregor Horres

Gregor Horres (* 1960 in Düsseldorf ) is a German director and university lecturer.

Career

Born as the son of the opera director Kurt Horres , Gregor Horres first grew up in Wuppertal and Darmstadt . He studied art history , philosophy , theater and film studies in Munich, Bonn and Frankfurt .

He got his first engagement as a director at the Staatstheater Darmstadt before moving to Freiburg in 1993 . As a guest director he was in the open-air theater Tecklenburg , at the Opera Ljubljana in Slovenia , the United Stages Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and at the Opera Festival Savonlinna in Finland as well as in Regensburg , Biel , Mannheim , Hagen , Innsbruck , Dortmund , Erfurt , Bremerhaven and Schwerin engaged .

In recent years he has staged world premieres such as The Face in the Mirror by Jörg Widmann and Gegen die Wand ( Ludger Vollmer ) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein .

Since October 2008 he has been teaching scenic design at the University of the Arts in Bremen .

Horres is married to the soprano Annina Papazian and has several children with her. Bernarda Horres is also the theater director of his two sisters at Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach.
