Grenadiermarsch

The Grenadiermarsch ( Hungarian : Gránátos kocka , Czech : grenadýrmarš) is a dish of Austrian and Hungarian cuisine from potatoes , Fleckerln or noodles , onions and usually bacon or sausage pieces . Leftovers from roasted meat and dumplings are often used in the preparation.

The grenadier march is prepared in different ways in Austria. It is generally a main course, with bacon, sausage or meat pieces being added directly, depending on the choice.

For the Hungarian and Burgenland preparation, chopped onions are roasted with potatoes. The whole thing is dusted with paprika powder and cooked. The noodles previously cooked in salted water are mixed in. Typical side dishes are fried sausages, bacon and fried eggs . The dish is served either on its own or as an accompaniment to main dishes.
