The Griffin Nunatak is a 3 km long nunatak with a flattened peak in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Prince Albert Mountains , it looms between Ambalada Peak and Terminal Peak .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1956 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Lieutenant William R. Griffin, commanding officer at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in winter 1966.
