Grigori Borissowitsch Adamow

Grigory Adamov , born Grigori Borisovich Gibs ( Russian Григорий Борисович Адамов , scientific. Transliteration Grigory Borisovič Adamov , born May 6 . Jul / 18th May  1886 greg. In Kherson , Kherson Gubernia , Russian Empire , now Ukraine ; † June 14 1945 in Moscow ) was a Russian writer. He has published stories and novels in the field of science fiction . It is one of the classics of the Soviet future novel.

His first novel was published in 1937 under the title Pobediteli nedr ("The Conquerors of the Earth's Interior") and deals with the development of new energy sources inside the earth. His best-known work, the only one that was also translated into German, is the novel The Secret of Two Oceans ( Taina dwuch okeanow ), published in 1939 , which, based on Jules Verne, describes the journey of a fantastically equipped submarine. The novel was filmed in 1955 ( The Secret of Two Oceans , director: Konstantin Pipinaschwili, 97 min), and in 1957 a German dubbed version was released in the GDR. The novel Isgnanije wladyki ("The expulsion of the ruler") was published posthumously in 1946. In addition to these novels, he published several short stories, including Awarija ("Havarie", 1935) and Oasis Solnza ("Die Sonnenoase", 1936)
