from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grit Kalies (* 1968 in Altentreptow ) is a German physical chemist and writer.

Life

Grit Kalies studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and qualified as a professor in physical chemistry . She is currently teaching physical chemistry as well as mixed phase and interface thermodynamics at the Dresden University of Technology and Economics (HTW Dresden). Her specialty is phenomenological and statistical thermodynamics. In 2019 she suggested that thermodynamics and the concept of entropy could be further developed if Albert Einstein's special theory of relativity (SRT) was abandoned ("Of the energy content of resting bodies", "Matter-Energy Equivalence"). Her physics novel "Raumzeit" has been devoted to the criticism of the SRT concept of time since 1905.
