In 1805, Friedrich von Gadow (Lord of Hugoldsdorf , Neuhof, Rönkendorf, Drechow and Alt-Seehagen) bought the Groß Potrems and Wendorf estate. In 1945 the von Gadow family was expropriated as part of the land reform. In the time of the GDR the manor house was used for consumption and was a kind of village center. In 1993, the Berlin hotelier Erwin Opel acquired the mansion, which was threatened with decay, had it restored until 1996 and from then on used it as a hotel. When Opel died in 2007 at the age of 73, the Schlosshotel Nordland became the property of his 25-year-old Polish widow, who sold it after 2009. The cemetery of the von Gadow family is still located in the manor park.

On July 10, 2017, a fire destroyed the roof structure of the then vacant building. The castle has had a new owner since August 2018, but is not yet being used again.
