Groß Weeden is a district of the municipality of Rondeshagen in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein . The community belongs to the Berkenthin office .

history

Where there was still dense forest in the 14th century, the Meierhof Groß Weeden was probably created in the 18th century after clearing work, which was separated from the Rondeshagen estate through the sale in 1802 . A separate estate was created with a brick factory , around which the workers were settled in their own houses. The area was acquired in 1895 by Friedrich Emil August von Krogh , who had a mansion in the neo-baroque style built there in 1914 by the Hamburg architects Frejtag & Elingius .

In addition to the only completely covered hazardous waste dump in Germany, there was also the largest music hall (discotheque, "Nachtarena Ziegelei") in Northern Germany in Groß Weeden, which was closed in 2015.
