Großdorfhain is a district of the Saxon community of Dorfhain in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .
Geography and history
The place is on the edge of the Tharandt forest . The developments of Großdorfhain and those of the other two Dorfhain districts Kleindorfhain and Mitteldorfhain merge seamlessly into one another. The neighboring towns of Großdorfhain are:
- Kleindorfhain in the northwest
- Mitteldorfhain in the north
- Höckendorf in the east and southeast
- Klingenberg in the southwest
- Obercunnersdorf in the south
The Waldhufendorf was a district of Mitteldorfhain, which probably corresponds to today's Dorfhain. In 1550, 19 possessed men and 41 residents lived here on 18 Hufen .
