The Great Bogdan ( Bulgarian Голям Богдан ; transcription: Goljam Bogdan) is the highest mountain of the Sredna Gora . It is located in Bulgaria , a few kilometers southeast of Koprivchitsa . The mountain is surrounded by forests on all sides. To the south there is the Great Bogdan from an unobstructed view to the mountain Barikadi and north to Mount Balk At the southern slope of the Great Bogdan there, surrounded by beech forests, large moss-covered rocks as. Tetelinowa Peshtera (to German: Clover Cave) are designated. The three rivers Pjasachnik, Kriva and Luda Jana have their source on this mountain.

The mountain is named after the Heiducken Bogdan Wojwoda . Besides the Big Bogdan there is also the Little Bogdan.

The Great Bogdan is one of the 100 national tourist objects of Bulgaria . Tourists visiting these 100 National Objects of Bulgaria can have their ascent of the mountain confirmed with a stamp which is in the Wohwodenez mountain hut or in the tourist center in Koprivchitsa.

The mountain has been namesake for the Bogdan Ridge , a mountain ridge on Greenwich Island in Antarctica , since 2005 .
