From the southwest of the Hundkopfes to the south, with no valleys worth mentioning in between, the Staudenkopf-Ridge , which is about 8 km long, bounded by the Nahe to the west and by the sluice to the east, branches off with the Großer Riesenhaupt ( 764 m ) near Frauenwald, Schmiedswiesenkopf ( 784 m ) and Kaltem Staudenkopf ( 768 m ). Separated from this ridge by the Tränkbach , the Rennwegkopf goes 751 m east of Frauenwald directly from the Hundskopf to the south.
