Large stone graves near Farven

The megalithic graves near Farven were four megalithic tombs of the Neolithic funnel beaker culture near Farven in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district ( Lower Saxony ). They were destroyed in the 19th century.

A 1841 obtained in still remains grave was "on the Haidtheile of Hofpächters Claus Bösch on a 3 F. high and about 40 step within the scope of holding hill." Two other previously completely for obtaining the material for the lock and Kirchhofsbau excavated graves seem to have stood in the immediate vicinity. A fourth grave, destroyed in 1825, was on the border with Byhusen . It was probably not far from the large stone grave of Byhusen, which is still in ruins today .

The grave still preserved around 1841 was oriented north-south and had six wall stones on the western and one on the eastern long side, and six other stones were lying around in disarray. The exact grave type can be based on this specification are not determined with certainty, but due to the size it must be a great dolmen or passage grave have acted.

About graves 2 and 3 it is only recorded that they were larger than grave 1. There is no description of the fourth grave.
