Great stone graves near Gerbitz

The megalithic graves near Gerbitz were several Neolithic megalithic graves of unknown number in Gerbitz , a district of Nienburg (Saale) in the Salzlandkreis , Saxony-Anhalt . They were destroyed at the beginning of the 19th century.

According to Christian Keferstein, the graves were located "Ohnweit Gerwitz [...] in the middle of the field". The large stone grave of Bierberg is located 1.3 km south of Gerbitz .

description

There is no information on the exact number or shape, size and orientation of the graves. Keferstein only mentions several “large heaps of mighty stone blocks”.
