Gerbitz is a district of the town of Nienburg (Saale) in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

geography

Gerbitz is about 7 km northeast of the district town of Bernburg (Saale) . The village consists of an "old village" and a housing estate built after the Second World War. On the outskirts of the Gerbitz district - on the road to Latdorf - stands the Bierberg , visible from afar , on which there is a megalithic grave made of sandstone blocks . The highest point on the ground is the "top high", a wooded hill that was previously used as a gravel construction .

history

The first documentary evidence of the location comes from January 9, 1324, when Duke Rudolf I of Saxony donated goods to the Nienburg monastery in Gerbitz.

On February 27th, 2008, the local council of the municipality of Gerbitz decided that the municipality of Gerbitz should be incorporated into the city of Nienburg (Saale). This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After incorporating the previously independent municipality of Gerbitz, Gerbitz becomes part of the city of Nienburg (Saale). For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt is introduced. The incorporated municipality of Gerbitz and the future district of Gerbitz will become the locality of the receiving city of Nienburg (Saale). A local council with seven members including the local mayor is formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Gerbitz.
