The megalithic graves near Hessenhagen are two presumed megalithic tombs of the Neolithic funnel cup culture (TBK) near Hessenhagen , a district of Flieth-Stegelitz in the Uckermark district ( Brandenburg ).

location

The two systems are located in the forest area south of Hessenhagen. They are 36 m apart. Their location is recorded in the local file as site 7.

description

The two complexes discovered in 1942 are apparently unfinished, chamberless giant beds . They have mounds with incomplete enclosures made of stones with diameters between 0.5 m and 1.65 m, which protrude up to 0.65 m from the earth. Grave 1 is oriented northeast-southwest and has a length of 12 m and a width of 7 m. Grave 2 is oriented north-south and has a length of 8.5 m and a width of 4.5 m.

An excavation has not yet taken place, and there are no known readings . An assignment to the funnel beaker culture is therefore only based on the principle of exclusion, as no other culture built megalithic buildings in the Uckermark .
