from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves near Kritzow were probably three megalithic graves of the Neolithic funnel beaker culture near Kritzow in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). They were destroyed in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Grave 1 was examined by Friedrich Wilhelm Zinck around 1805 .

location

Grave 1 was near the Kritzower Bridge. The location of grave 2 is not published. Grave 3 was in the Rotstall, part of the Sandkrug Fort.

description

Grave 1

All that is known about the tomb itself is that it had a single large capstone. During his examination, Zinck found a complete, recumbent human skeleton with the skull facing east. Ewald Schuldt classified the grave as an extended dolmen .

Grave 2

Grave 2 was an ancient dolmen . Further information is not available (possibly identical to grave 3?).

Grave 3

Grave 3 was also an ancient dolmen. After Robert Beltz , it was destroyed in 1905. A pavement made of annealed flint was found in the burial chamber . A flat ax and a fragment of the cutting edge of a narrow chisel were discovered among grave goods . Both pieces are now in the collection of the Archaeological State Museum Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin .
