Great stone grave Greven

The large stone grave Greven was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Greven , a district of Granzin in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was destroyed in the 19th century. In 1805 Friedrich Wilhelm Zinck carried out an excavation.

The grave was on the border between Greven and Lindenbeck .

The complex had a ring-shaped or oval frame made of large stones. The largest was 3 feet (about 0.9 m) thick. Inside the enclosure was a pile of clay . This hid a burial chamber , which was not described in detail. Only three stones (cap stones?) Are mentioned. During the investigation of the grave, some ceramic fragments and in several places charcoal and rusted iron objects were found in the east .
