description

Ground plan of the grave in the reconstructed state after Lienau

It is not certain whether the monument in Langen today is actually the remains of a large stone grave. These were discovered in 1849 when the Ritzerberg was removed. Most of the material was removed without documentation. The facility has only been in its current form since the 1880s. At that time, the previously rolled cap stone was put back on the wall stones. One or two of the four remaining wall stones were also only set up at their current position at this time. The capstone has a few pans .

The assessments of whether it is actually a large stone grave vary. While Hugo Mötefindt spoke out in favor of it, Sophus Müller and Ernst Sprockhoff were rather skeptical due to the position of the wall stones.
