Large stone grave in Offendorf
The large stone grave Offendorf (also long bed in Offendorf ) is located southwest of the village of Kreuzkamp, district of Ratekau / south of Offendorf (on Hemmelsdorfer See ) - in Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein and is named "Sprockhoff 247" in the "Atlas of Germany's Megalithic Tombs" guided. The megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr.
It is lined with trees and is located in a fenced area on a meadow about 50 m from a road.
It is oriented roughly in a south-west direction, about 56 m long and 18 m wide. The height of the mound of earth covering the megalithic complex is very uneven and reaches a maximum height of about 1.8 m. On the eastern side two large stones emerge from the hill to the surface - a hollow could have been the location of the burial chamber. The curb stones that supported the hill on the sides have largely been removed - only a few stones come to the surface on the southwestern side.
The long bed is accessible via the meadow and is protected as an archaeological monument .
Others
