Sprockhoff no. 180

The large stone grave Probsteierhagen is a megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Probsteierhagen in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . It bears the Sprockhoff number 180.

location

The grave is located south-southeast of Probsteierhagen, directly on Wulfsdorfer Weg

description

The complex has an east-west oriented megalithic bed with a length of 30 m and a width of 7 m. A few stones remain from the enclosure. A large stone at the east end may have been moved recently. At the east end of the bed, the remains of the north-east-south-west oriented burial chamber can be seen in a pit . When Sprockhoff took the picture in 1959, the north-eastern end stone and the two adjoining wall stones on the south-eastern long side were still preserved. One of the wall stones is now missing. Due to the small size of the pit, the chamber may have been an enlarged dolmen .
