The large stone grave Wendhof is a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Wendhof , a district of Göhren-Lebbin in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It bears the Sprockhoff number 434.

location

The grave is located about 1.3 km southeast of Wendhof in a forest, directly north of a path. To the northwest was the large stone grave Lebbin , which was probably destroyed in the early 20th century , to the west or southwest were the large stone graves at Poppentin , to the south the large stone grave at Sietow and to the east the large stone graves at Sembzin (all destroyed in the 19th century).

description

The complex has an approximately north-south oriented burial chamber , originally encased by a rolling stone mound , which is an enlarged dolmen . All the stones are still there. The northern end stone, the northern wall stone of the western long side and the southern stone of the eastern long side are still in situ . The other two stones on the long sides are shifted. The southern capstone is dragged a little away from the chamber. It is only about half the size of its counterpart, so that the entrance to the south can be accepted. The two capstones have sunk into the interior of the chamber. The burial chamber has a length of 2 m and a width of 1.3 m.
