Lorenz Kähler

Lorenz Kähler (* 1973 in Pößneck ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Bremen .

Life

After his community service, Kähler began studying law at the University of Heidelberg in 1994 , where he became a member of the Heidelberg Wingolf . After studying in London, Kähler later moved to the University of Göttingen , where he passed his first state examination in law in 2000. He then worked as a research assistant for Dietmar von der Pfordten at the University of Göttingen and followed this after moving to the University of Erfurt in 2002 . From 2001 to 2002 he was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School . In 2003 Kähler received his doctorate from von der Pfordten as Dr. iur. The following year he passed his second state examination. He then went on to study philosophy , which he completed in 2007 with a master's degree. Until 2011 he also worked for the law firm Hengeler Mueller in Berlin. Kähler completed his habilitation in 2010. Since 2011 he has held the chair for civil law, civil procedural law and legal philosophy at the University of Bremen . He has been dean of the law faculty there since 2015. Kähler is also involved in the Center for Transnational Studies (ZenTra) in Bremen, which opened in 2012.
