Groißenbrunn
Groißenbrunn is a place in the market town of Engelhartstetten in the Gänserndorf district in Lower Austria .

Groißenbrunn is located in the southern Marchfeld in the north of the market town on a stepped terrain of the Wagram .
history
The place was mentioned in a document in 1150.
In 1260 the Battle of Kressenbrunn (Battle of Groißenbrunn) between Ottokar II and Bela IV took place. In 1683 there was a Turkish invasion. 1704/1706 were Kuruc invasions .
Building
In the north of the slightly sloping, partly built-up Angers , the parish church stands at a dominant altitude. Most of the side streets have a closed, single-storey eaves structure. The Zwerchhöfe are mostly street front houses with gables. On the western outward road there are longitudinal and transverse barns from the end of the 19th century.
In the middle of the village there are ponds, formerly used as collecting basins for the water features in Schloss Hof Palace .
